Toyota Prado 120 Roof top tent Rack
Tough Touring makes a Super Low mount , 150 kg Off road rated roof rack specifically for the Land Cruiser 120 Series Prado - and Specifically to suit fitment of Roof top tents and Pole less wing awnings. The Rack weighs approximatly 23 Kg including all hardware and fittings.
The Toyota Prado 120 had many slighty different roof rack fitting positions, the most common being the middle row of two bolts centred at 485mm from the rear.
Some later models (closer to the release of the Prado 150 had the centre bolts spaced 534mm forward of the rear bolts...
We descided in Version 10 of this rack to 'morph' the two together as their design was so similar that we now offer the Prado 120 rack pre-drilled with the 150 centre mount included - Prado owners stay Prado owners :) you can move the rack with you should you update.
We offer a Unique type of Rack Planks to marry up to the roof rails - 3 "Top Hat Bar Planks" are supplied for Ultimate strength and easiest tent removal/ Each Bar Plank can handle heavy duty point loads, While they also allow independent Awning to rack installations with Pre -drilled mount points already cut.
The Tough Touring Roof Racks are Capable of handling typical Hardshell Tent loads in harsh off road environments - and can withstand a lifetime of punishing corregation abuse with their zero weld, M8 Bolt up structure. The Tough Touring Racks sit so low they help reduce vehicle body roll and wind noise - they also improve vehicle stability.
The Prado's rear barn door allows foul free fit up of popular wing awnings, and our rack allows the 270 awnings to be correctly positioned to cover the gap between the awning and the door to keep the rain OUT.
Adding accessories is easy...
The front and rear top hat planks are pre drilled to accept our 'AWNING TO RACK Pole less wing awning brackets, giving immense twist strength and a super stiff mount point for oversized wing awnings.

Tec Specs
If you are running a Hard Shell Roof top Tent, and wish to run a pole less wing awning independently to the tent (Ie Fitted to the rack) Please choose Planks at least 100mm wider than the tent your fitting in '[options' in the Product Options below. We also sell replacement Slats to add to your roof rail while the tent is removed - You would typically require 4 slats to create a functioning roof rack. (So you'll need at least a total of 6 if your going to take the tent off and still leave the awning fitted... (The Front and Rear Tough Touring Slats would typically remain on the rails after the tent is lifted off,) two slats would go up and off still fixed to the tent, So purchase an additional 2 slats - Bolt them on while the tent is off, and fitted you would then have 4 slats back on the car for a functioning rack - (and no need to remove the awning...Which stays fitted to the front and rear tough touring slats.) As Shown in the pictures above, the Universal Rails themselves are an excellent foundation for many other rack baskes, flat racks, mounting platforms... Customers are mounting all kinds of boxes and custom made gear to them, due to their versatility and nice strong low mount. Our Racks are warranted for off road use.
Our warranty extends to parts / supply only. Damage occasioned to your vehicle by operating under extreme loads in dangerous manner are not advised or covered.
Rack Plank Type and Widths availalbe
We offer 3 lengths of Top hat folded Aluminum planks / slats to go with this kit, The standard (Best looking) width being 1350mm
If you are also fitting a pole less wing awning and you cannot fit the awning to the tent directly - ,It is typically a good idea to order top hat bar planks around 100mm longer than the tent width...
This allows you to mount the awning directly to the planks and still centre your roof top tent...
We call this type of installation an 'Independent Awning to Tent Install" More on this here - https://www.toughtouring.com.au/tent-to-vehicle-kits
