Ostrich Junior - 270 Poleless Wing awning
Ostrich has released the New Ostrich Junior, Designed for Shorter mounting surfaces, it fits nicely on most Dual Cab utes with just 1500mm mount width requirements... Shown here on a Ford Ranger, Holden Colorado, Discovery 2 and Ranger rover sport - (Al vehicles with a short roof line) This awning weighs just 18kgs for its 9sqm coverage and 100% canvas canopy and Bag.
Great value at this price - Its about 15 seconds to put up and away too.. Easy to get back in the bag... .
The Awning comes with 1 Integrated Pole, and still features the Huge oversized Zippers present on its larger models.
The Ostrich Junior is much the same size as the Bush Company XT awning, in our opinion its 2.0m arm length is just enough for quick shade and shelter, or maybee enough to keep your swag dry.
While the team at Tough Touring all prefer the Full Size Ostrich - (2.7m Back plate and 2.5m on the arms) . The Ostrich Junior is a winner for those owning Dual Cabs that don't have long enough mounting positions... At Just 18 Kgs, Even those of you with heavily modified rock crawlers can run this awning without even knowing its there.Same Awesome Slide in quick release brackets as the origional full size unit, this is of same quality and uses same design that made the ostrich the most copied awning ever built.

(They are imported from South africa) and Typically we don't get the full variety of colors each shipment... TECH DETAIL - DUAL CABS - FULL SIZE 2.7m POLE LESS
To run a 2.5 - 2.7m Long Pole less awning you need a minimum mounting width of 1850mm - This minimum Width is required to stop the front half of the awnings back plate from wobbling around enough to shear or break the front mounts/Mounting bolts and or rack when driving on corregated raods... The damage when the front lets go is catastrophic to the awning, rack and vehicle.
The Ostrich Junior is designed as a lightweight - 18Kg short throw option to meet the needs of Dual Cab Ute owners that only have 1200 - 1650mm of rack length to mount an awning too. Its Lighweight combined with its shorter span reduces load on the front of the rack enormously. Coverage is 9sqm, Placing it as only slightly smaller surface area to the next size awning up in the competition - the bush company xt270.
For information on Mounting a Full Size pole less wing awning exceeding 25kgs and 2.5m in length to a dual Cab ute- This can be done if you have mounting points on the cabin as well as on the rear Tub or canopy using a flexing bracket system.
