Poleless wing awnings and the 200 Series Toyota
BEFORE YOU BUY AN AWNING TO FIT TO YOUR 200 SERIES ROOF RACK!
BEWARE - FITTING CAN BE A NIGHTMARE!
If your wanting to fit a Pole Less wing awning to your Roof rack On the 200 series toyota There is not enough space between the opening tailgate wind fairing to put up most Pole less wing awnings, as the awnings last arm cannot fit between the tiny gap between the rack and the rear wind spoiler.
We'e addressed this problem with our Bracket systems sitting up ontop of typical racks, Which are Manufactured to allow them to be fitted sitting 80mm forward of the rear edge of the majority of common roof racks. Examples of these brackets can be seen here on our awning to rack page
- Please note that for the 200 series, you always have to choose the "UP" bracket option.

Bush Company XT Awning:

A Very popular and beautifully made awning with fast set up and very solid. We don't stock them here but have to mention them as they are a great awning , and a Great choice for the LC200 - albeit with a disadvantage of having the last pivoting arm finishinig on the low side of the hinge - striking the Wind fairing of the open door very early. This can be rectified by mounting the awning further forward on the rack, (And on top of it) - see more on this on our awning to rack brackets page here

Customers fitting Bush company awnings to the 200 series racks be wary in particular of Basket racks, as these cannot be moved forward easily, nor can brackets be added forward. This combination just doesn't work without major modifications to the rack or mounts - usually invoves getting rid of the basket rack

If your after a quality awning for your 200 - Our Favorite here in Victorian Conditions is the Ostrich. Its the original 270 degree poleless Awning. These guys have 30 Odd years experience Just making the worlds best awning It Now comes in Black Bag / Grey canvas as well as the traditional Khaki. The Ostrich is the preferred Wing awning for the 200 as its last swinging arm finishes on the high side of its hinge - giving it the best clearance over the Lc200 Wind fairing without putting the awning itself to high to reach for set up.
The Ostrich features a 100% canvas construction and trussed arms in aluminium keep it light and strong. It takes 4 panels via huge zippers to all sides, and can be used as a wind shelter with its (Optional) wall kit being a heavy duty effective shelter... BOSS 270 Wing Awning:
While we don't supply these ourselves, we've given the Boss a mention here becuase it ticks the boxes too for this vehicle. Its Quality Australian Made gear - The Boss is our 'Money is no object choise for the 200... Designed in many ways resembling the perfect design of the Ostrich but with also perfect finish and improved Australian Made materials, this thing really is NIICE.
It sits beside the Ostrich with for us as the preferred Wing awning for the 200 as its last swinging arm also finishes on the high side of its hinge - giving it the best chances of clearance over the Lc200 Wind fairing without putting the awning itself to high to reach for set up.
